Africa the cradle of whales?

Whales in the desert?

Africa is the cradle of whales.

Egyptian scientists have just published their first findings of Phiomicetus Anubis. A newly discovered ancestor of modern whales.

Phiomicetus Anubis belongs to the Protecetids family, which is a family of extinct semi-aquatic whales that lived from 59 to 34 million years ago. It lived both on land and water. The fossil was discovered in Egypt’s Western Desert 10 years ago.
